On the project

More extensive wounds at the oral mucosa site, especially after resection of oral tumors, are hard-to-heal. In this project, a bioresorbable, thermosensitive, and injectable copolymer based on lactic and glycolic acid and poly(ethylene glycol) PLGA-PEG-PLGA will be modified to promote mucoadhesive properties. The hydrogel will be further enriched with stabilized liposomal pro-healing protein (FGF2-STAB). The chemical structure, rheological properties, hydrolytic stability, and protein release of such a drug delivery system will be evaluated.
