EqualOpportunities
Equal Opportunities
The BUT seeks systematic support to ensure Equal Opportunities and Equal Treatment of employees and students in the areas of management, institutional and personnel policy, including the values and standards it recognises.
The BUT has as one of its supporting tools the new Gender Equality Plan of BUT 2025-2028, which is available in both czech and english. You can find it together with other important information on the website SUPPORT AND DEVELOPMENT OF EMPLOYEES AND STUDENTS. The approach of the BUT to the processes of assessment, evaluation, training or recruitment of employees in terms of ensuring equality of opportunity is an important strategic point for the University.
No form of discrimination is tolerated at the BUT.
If you are the object or witness of any unwanted action, have the ability to effectively defend yourself or help protect others, please contact the BUT Social Safety Coordinator (BUT Ombudsperson) Ing. Bohdana Šlégrová and Mgr. Martina Martínková, Ph.D.
One of the basic principles of any democratic society is equality of citizens regardless of gender. The principle of equal opportunities means combating discrimination based on sex, race, colour, ethnic or social origin, genetic features, language, religion or belief, political opinions or any other opinion, parenthood, membership of a national minority, property, birth, disability, age or sexual orientation.
The individual objectives through which the University promotes equal opportunities and on which it continuously works are:
- Support for parents with children
- Part-time job
- Flexible working hours
- 6-8 weeks of leave
- Psychological counselling for students and staff
- Sports activities for children (CSA)
